Foga was merely one of a number of prodigies mentioned in the Jamaican newspapers in the early 20th century.

The account of Foga's talents raises some suspicions as to how he acquired them. The tricks he could perform seem remarably similar to those of professional stage performers of the time. How had he come to acquire them in the midst of the Cockpit country?
